24 + 24

What's 24 + 24?

Well, 25 + 25 = 50. I know that because a quarter is worth 25 cents, and two quarters are worth 50 cents.

24 is one less than 25. So, if I add two 24s together, the answer should be two less than what I get when I add two 25s together. (25 - 1) + (25 - 1) = 25 + 25 - 1 - 1 = 25 + 25 - 2

Since 25 + 25 = 50, 24 + 24 = 50 - 2, which is 48.

So 24 + 24 = 48.

I'm Kind of a Big Deal

I am now a Mt. Juliet Elementary School Super Bear. That means that I'm a "very special student", one of two selected from my class for the third nine-week grading period, and that I'm entitled to a Super Bear water bottle and bumper sticker.
